How Long Does Brow Lamination Last?

The short answer: 4 to 8 weeks. But that range is wide for a reason — several factors determine whether you land closer to 4 weeks or 8+. Here's what actually affects how long your brow lamination lasts, with tips specific to Denver's dry, high-altitude climate.

Week-by-week timeline

Day 1 Brows are set in place. The chemical bonds are still forming — this is the most critical period for aftercare. Avoid water, oil, and touching.
Week 1–2 Peak results. Brows hold their shape with minimal effort. You can brush them into place with a spoolie and they stay.
Week 3–4 Still looking great. Some new growth may start coming in at the roots, but the overall shape holds. Most clients are still skipping brow products at this stage.
Week 5–6 Gradual softening. The laminated hairs start relaxing toward their natural growth pattern. A brow gel can extend the look.
Week 7–8+ The effect has largely grown out. This is the ideal time to rebook. Some clients with slower hair growth still see results at 8+ weeks.

What makes it last longer

First 24 hours (most important)

  • Keep brows completely dry — no water, steam, or sweat
  • Don't touch, rub, or brush them
  • Sleep on your back if possible
  • Avoid makeup on the brow area

Ongoing maintenance

  • Avoid oil-based cleansers and serums on the brow area
  • Use a nourishing brow oil 2–3 times per week (castor oil or a brow conditioner)
  • Brush brows into place daily with a clean spoolie
  • Avoid rubbing your face with towels — pat dry around brows

What makes it fade faster

The most common reasons lamination doesn't last as long as expected:

How often to rebook

Most clients settle into a schedule of every 6 to 8 weeks. This gives the previous treatment time to fully grow out before re-laminating, which is important for hair health. Getting lamination more frequently than every 4 weeks is not recommended — it can lead to dryness and weakened brow hairs.

The bottom line

Brow lamination lasts 4 to 8 weeks, with the first 24 hours of aftercare being the biggest factor in getting toward the longer end. Pair it with hybrid dye in our Signature Brows service ($75) for color that fades on its own separate timeline — so even as the lamination softens, you still have defined, colored brows.

At Eclipse Beauty Lounge in Denver's Highland neighborhood, brow lamination with wax is $65 for a 60-minute session. Every appointment includes aftercare instructions tailored to your skin type and Denver's dry climate. Not sure if lamination is right for you? Read our comparison of brow lamination vs microblading. We serve clients from across the Denver metro including LoHi, Sloan's Lake, Capitol Hill, Aurora, Lakewood, Arvada, and Westminster.
